Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 August saw MCRAG Community Foundations Executive Officer and two Board members attend the National Community Foundation Forum for 2015 in Freemantle.
After co-hosting last years Forum it was great to be able to attend another super successful forum this time hosted by the Freemantle Foundation. This years focus was on Impact, Collaboration and Governance. The program can be found here http://australiancommunityphilanthropy.org.au/projects/2015-national-community-foundation-forum/
Vital Signs again had floor time which was fantastic. Vital Signs is a process to map local communities so that when it comes time for Community Foundations to put in effort they know exactly where to direct time, resources and funding. A great local example of Vital Signs is with the Lord Mayors Charitable Foundation and can be found here http://www.lmcf.org.au/about-the-foundation/media-centre/media-releases/261-take-a-look-at-melbourne-s-vital-signs
We looked deeply into impact - how do we measure it and how do ensure that we are having the right kind of impact. Collaborative approaches was the final topic that we delved into - from collaborative giving circles to working collaboratively across community's to maximise community benefit.
Thank you to Australian Community Philanthropy, The Freemantle Foundation, FRRR and all the other organisers of this fantastic forum.
